Artist 
Emília Castellan was born in Brazil on august 7th,1951, Rio de Janeiro. By the time she was 12 she created her first gouache pictures, when she fell in love with drawing and started portraiting her relatives' faces. She rediscovered art at the age 38, with paiting.In 1994, she started studying at "Sociedade Brasileira de Belas Artes", tutored by Dario Silva. That's when she developed her skills at paiting, and got to create paintings with advanced technique. In 1996, she started creating her artistic nude paintings. By reproducing the human figure, she pursues her idealism by aproaching her creative ideas with vigor and strength of expression.She started selling her art at the Hippie Market of Ipanema, where she works today. Since then, she tries to reach a diverse audience, with her daring and expressive shapes. "My art is my daily prayer. That's how I speak to God. I have projects in mind that will keep me busy for the next 400 years!" Her paintings are spread all over Brazil and 30 different countries in the world, and she has over 2800 sold pieces.
